Reformation Ministries
The mission of our Church, with the help of the Holy Spirit, is to gather and support a faith community called in the name of Christ and dedicated to the care and redemption of God's creation.
Through our ministries, we invite everyone to participate in meaningful service to the community and experience spiritual growth. There are numerous activities for individuals, families, and groups - from music to fellowship, and education to outreach.
Reformation is proud of the work we have done and are still doing in the congregation and the community. Take a moment and learn about them by clicking on the categories to the left.
Inauguration Day "Warming Center"
Reformation opened its doors on Inauguration Day, January 20, 2009.
The signatures in the guest book are a testament to the multitude of people from across the country and around the world that came through our neighborhood that day. Most stayed for a few minutes on their way to and from the Mall or the Parade. Some, however, were so exhausted they stayed for more than an hour, among them parents with two toddlers who fell asleep on the floor of the Parish Hall, an extended family from Harrisburg, PA, and a group of college students from the Netherlands. Quite a few people needed directions, while others used Reformation as an impromptu meeting point for reuniting with family and friends. This ministry of hospitality may seem mundane on an extraordinary day, but it made a big difference for a lot of people. Sharing God’s blessings is never a one way street – this became particularly evident when counting the donations for our food pantry: over $800 were given by our visitors!
