Lutheran Church of the Reformation

The Life of Jesus

Seventy years ago, ten stained glass windows were installed in the sanctuary of the Church of the Reformation. Each frame is a scene from a famous painting of events in the Life of Jesus. The brilliant color of the Nativity, the Transfiguration, the Supper at Emmaus and others have ever served to enhance our worship service. But now our aging treasure requires restoration.

As part of its fund-raising effort, the Reformation Windows Restoration Funding Committee is giving you an opportunity to experience the extrodinary beauty of these scenes in a Set of 10 Note Cards and two Christmas Cards. The set of 10 are blank inside and are perfect for use as sympathy, well wishing and friendship cards, while the Christmas cards have a message inside. All cards are also available individually.

To buy the cards, look for either Helen Vigness or Judith Mangubat on Sunday mornings, before or after worship. There is also a display near the entry of the church (the narthex.) Or you can email your order to Helen Vigness. The cost is $15.00 for a set of 10, plus $5.00 for shipping. Please make the check payable to Church of the Reformation with "note cards" in the memo line.

For more information about the stained glass windows and the Sanctuary, see our Windows Brochure, or talk to one of the members of the Windows Restauration Committee (from right to left): Sarah Stauderman, Philip Moeller, Judith Mangubat, Mo Goff, George Hutchinson, Wally Rossmiller, Christine Pommerening .

Update!

The restoration is well underway to be completed on schedule by Easter 2009, but more work needs to be done. Below is a recent picture of Glenn Shalan & Co. installing recently restored windows:
