Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender (GLBT) people, as individuals created by God, are welcome to participate fully in the life of the congregations of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.

The Church of the Reformation is a Reconciling in Christ (RIC) Congregation, and as such welcomes all people as full members, regardless of their sexual orientation, their gender identity or that of their children, siblings or friends.

We also provide budgetary support for Lutherans Concerned (LC), Lutheran Lesbian and Gay Ministries  (LLGM), and the Network (an advocacy group for gay and lesbian concerns within the context of the Lutheran Church).

The Metro Washington, D.C. Chapter of Lutherans Concerned (LC/MWDC) maintains office space and a mailing address at Reformation.  LC/MWDC sponsors a worship service at Christ Lutheran Church, 5101 16th St., NW, on the fourth Sunday of most months. The Chapter also sponsors an annual banquet and other events during the year.

The ministry of Lutherans Concerned, its meetings and mailing list are protected by our understanding of sanctuary.  No participant need fear exposure or abuse in subscribing, joining or attending Lutherans Concerned events.

If you would like more information about RIC at Reformation, or join the LC/MWDC email list for announcements (2 - 3 per month...no overwhelming amount), contact Philip Moeller.
