For nearly 150 years, Lutheran Church of the Reformation has served as a place of hospitality and welcome in our nation’s capital, bringing together people from across the D.C. region and welcoming guests from across the country and around the world as we come together to worship and serve our neighbors.

We’ve celebrated the 500th anniversary of the Protestant Reformation in 2017 and the 150th anniversary of our congregation’s founding on Capitol Hill in 2019. One way we celebrated is through the Anniversary Campaign.

Over these three years we have achieved so much. Even though the church building is closed due to the coronavirus pandemic, we know that the chancel and nave are beautifully updated, the front plaza revitalized, and many infrastructure needs addressed. More than renovations, we called Pastor Ben Hogue and contributed to important ministries such as Southeast Ministry, Lutheran Social Services, and the Metropolitan Washington DC Synod.

So many gave to this campaign, and we raised $572,578 to date. Because of that success, we received an amazing and generous matching grant from the National Fund for Sacred Places for $250,000 for the building projects. That’s $827,578 so far! We rallied Opening Doors, Nourishing Souls, and Praising God. Thank you—and Glory to our God and Creator!

Help us make this final stretch for the Anniversary Campaign. Complete the online pledge form, mail a gift to the church office, or talk with Pastor Mike Wilker or Sarah Stauderman about how you can make a creative gift to accomplish the congregation's goals to Open Doors, Nourish Souls and Praise God.
