SUNDAY MORNINGS
IN PERSON.

WHAT TO EXPECT.

Worship at Reformation Lutheran church in Washington DC is an experience of the Biblical Story, a proclamation of the Gospel in today’s world and the celebration of Holy Communion each Sunday.

From September to May, we have two worship services, both held in the large sanctuary space.

The 8:30 am service includes music led by an organ and a singer. The early service is a more intimate group.

The 11:00 am service incorporates a very talented choir (except during the summer), and usually has more than 100 attendees. This service is also our  live-streamed online worship service

Lutheran liturgy is participatory – all are invited to “enter in,” and we are blessed by many liturgical leaders from our congregation.

Sunday Morning Education, with groups for all ages (including adults!), is offered between the services. Sunday School classes begin on September 18th from 9:45am-10:45am. Contact Us for more information on how to get connected.

Children are always welcome in worship, but sometimes caregivers with children need some other options. The Blue Room, at the rear left of the sanctuary, is equipped with sound.  Some caregivers and restless children follow the service there.  For children four years and younger, we also have a staffed nursery from September-May.

We all may mask or not, according to our preferences. As of 3/12/23, Reformation no longer requires masks to be worn in Worship. Let us all be respectful of others’ needs, choices, and boundaries. If you need a mask, just ask an usher!

After each service, we enjoy fellowship, coffee, and snacks together. Following the 8:30 service, we gather in the Blue Room. After the later service, we gather outside or downstairs in the Parish Hall. We hope you will join us!

NURSERY.

HOW TO GET HERE.

For children four years and younger, we have a staffed nursery from 8:15am-12:15pm from September-May. The nursery is in the lower level of the St. John’s Building. You can ask an usher for assistance in finding the space.
